EMPF Unveils New Organisational Structure Back

At a meeting of the officers of the East Midlands PF and invited members on March 11th a round table discussion took place about the organisational structure and the roles and responsibilities of those who volunteer their time and effort for the EMPF. The EMPF is run by the four regional co-ordinators and the treasurer who all report to the district manager. It was resolved that this "committee" of "official officials" (!)  should create a number of "departmental co-ordinators" and appoint appropriate members to the posts. The departmental co-ordinators will be responsible for co-ordinating and liasing with the public and other outside bodies, organisations, agencies etc in each of their areas.

It was further agreed that the first task of each co-ordinator would be to produce a handbook and training manual on how to do the job of liasing in their department. Once the handbooks have been produced and aggreed by the committee then each departmental co-ordinator may recoomend to the committe that individuals may be appointed  "Liason Officers" for that department who, having been "inducted" and trained as per the handbook, will then be authorised to carry on the business of the PF in that department.

The new departments created initially are:

Familes & Young People
Schools
Hospitals
Prisons
Media & Press
LGBT
Celebrants
Interfaith
IT & Technical

We will shortly be updating this news item to name (and shame) the lucky members appointed as co-ordinators. The handbooks and training scheme will be in place by the end of the summer but if members (and you have to be a PF member to volunteer) would like to contact the co-ordinators if they are interested in becoming liason offers then they may do so now.
