Derbyshire Summer Camp 2008
13th - 15th June 2008
This years camp will be held at a site in Elvaston, Derbyshire, on the above dates. Although on a public site, we will have our own field, which even contains a marquee that we can use. The field is away from the road, which will ensure a degree of privacy for us.
There is a fishing lake on site and permits can be purchased whilst there. The site has beautifully clean toilets and showers, a laundry room and a pot-washing area. There is also a small shop, selling basics such as canned drinks, maps, sweets, etc.
There is a pub about a mile away, serving good food and drink. Nearest shops are in Borrowash and we are not too far from Shardlow Marina.
Unfortunately, we are not allowed to have a fire, but we are looking at alternatives. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead at all times and, of course, owners must clean up after them. Cars may be parked alongside pitches, unless the ground is too muddy (so get working on the weather magick!)
There will be a few talks/workshops during Saturday; if any of you can offer some, please let me know. There will, as usual, be our rite on the Saturday evening. We have also decided to synchronise the camp with the 18th Derby Pagan Picnic in the Park, which takes place on Sunday 15th June, at Elvaston Castle.
You are very welcome to bring along a stall, if you have any goodies to sell - we are not charging for this, but you will need to bring your own table.
We also plan to have a big raffle on Saturday night and we ask that you all bring along a small prize with you. Likewise, the stallholders will be expected to supply a prize, in return for their free stall.
This camp is non-profit making, apart from the raffle, proceeds of which will go into our PFEM funds. Interested? Fees are as follows:
£5-00 per PF member and £6 per non-member - for the whole weekend!!!! Under 16's free, but must be with adults. Electrical hook-ups £3-00 per night extra, if needed for a caravan or camper..
Please send your payment (made payable to 'Pagan Federation East Midlands') and state how many people are coming and how many tents/campers/caravans you are bringing - and for how many nights.
Remember - the price is per person, whether staying one or two nights!
Please send a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your booking, for me to send your directions to the site and to confirm your booking. If you do not enclose a sae, your booking may not be made! A contact number would be useful too!!!
